Hero’s Off-Road Duo Compared: Xpulse 210 4V VS Xpulse 200 4V Pro
The Hero Xpulse 210 marks a significant leap forward in the Xpulse lineup, primarily thanks to its upgraded engine, which now features the same 210cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-valve motor found in the Karizma XMR 210. This engine produces 24.26 bhp of peak power and 20.7 Nm of peak torque — an increase of 5.1 bhp and 3.5 Nm over the Xpulse 200 4V. The inclusion of liquid cooling and a DOHC 4V head ensures more efficient thermal management and smoother power delivery, especially during prolonged rides or off-road excursions. Additionally, the engine is now mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch, finally equipping the Xpulse with proper highway touring capability and smoother downshifts.
In terms of design, the Xpulse 210 brings an entirely fresh look while retaining the core ADV identity. It features a redesigned round headlamp with an H-shaped LED DRL, now integrated more neatly into a beefier and more muscular front fascia. The new fuel tank appears larger and is flanked by pronounced tank shrouds that also serve to house the radiator and oil reservoir for the liquid-cooled engine. There’s a newly designed subframe and revised bodywork, along with a reworked luggage rack and a more ergonomic seat. The upswept exhaust has been repositioned, enhancing both ground clearance and adventure-ready aesthetics. A new windscreen also makes an appearance, offering better wind protection on long rides.
Off-road capabilities remain a highlight, as the Xpulse 210 continues to feature 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels — ideal for tackling rough terrain. However, the tyres are still tube-type, which may be a downside for some. Suspension travel has seen a welcome increase, with 210mm up front and 205mm at the rear on the standard version. Hero has also showcased an Xpulse 210 Rally variant equipped with fully adjustable suspension (compression and rebound at the front, preload and rebound at the rear) and extended suspension travel, catering to hardcore trail riders.
The Xpulse 210 also takes a big step forward in technology. A new 4.2-inch TFT instrument cluster replaces the basic LCD setup from the previous generation. This color display supports Bluetooth connectivity and navigation features, offering a much richer user interface. The bike also receives new, more premium switchgear. For added safety, dual-channel ABS replaces the older single-channel system, along with disc brakes at both ends to enhance braking performance in both on-road and off-road conditions.
