2025 Honda Dio 125 Launched in India with OBD2B Compliance and H-Smart Technology
Honda has officially launched the 2025 Dio 125 in India, updating the sporty scooter with OBD2B compliance and several premium features. Powering the new Dio 125 is the 125cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine, delivering 8.16 bhp and 10.4 Nm of torque, ensuring peppy performance for city rides. While the engine remains mechanically unchanged, it has now been upgraded to meet OBD2B norms, enhancing onboard diagnostics and emission monitoring.
The suspension setup includes telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable single rear shock, which helps in offering better comfort and handling based on rider and pillion weight. The Dio 125 rides on stylish 12-inch alloy wheels, paired with a front disc brake and rear drum brake, supported by Combi-Brake System (CBS) for improved safety and braking efficiency.
Feature-wise, the 2025 Dio 125 is well-equipped with Honda’s H-Smart technology, allowing keyless functionalities like smart find, keyless start, and anti-theft security through an electronic key fob. It also includes a side-stand engine cut-off sensor, enhancing safety by preventing the scooter from starting when the stand is down. This makes it not just a stylish and practical choice, but also one of the most tech-packed scooters in its class.
What is OBD2B?
OBD2B (On-Board Diagnostics 2nd Generation – Phase B) is a more advanced version of emission monitoring systems mandated by Indian regulations for BS6 Phase 2 vehicles. While the earlier OBD2A focused on basic real-time emission tracking, OBD2B goes a step further by continuously monitoring critical components like catalytic converter efficiency, oxygen sensors, fuel system, and more. It also enables malfunction indicator lights (MIL) to alert the rider about any system fault, helping in timely maintenance and ensuring the scooter runs cleaner and more efficiently. OBD2B is a key step in reducing vehicular pollution while keeping performance and economy intact.
